O teorie ştiinţifico-fantastică a reprezentării]

….

Undeva la început am murit.

În pustietatea costumului metalic

Dumnezeu a căzut cu mine.

Atunci am lăsăt asemenea gânduri în urma mea

Ori deasupra, ori sub, mine

A report [by Ruth Fainlight, anthologized in Holding Your Eight Hands, 1969]

For the first ten years I fell

Through enormous space and did not pass one star.

Somewhere early on I died.

In the emptiness of my metalled suit

God fell with me.

Then I left such thoughts behind.

Or above, or below, me

Lost awareness of God and time simultaneously

And approached the first star.

But my suit did not burn, so I kept falling.

How many stars, how many light-years later

When I first knew nothing would be my salvation?

Nothing and nothing, outside and inside:

The same fabric of thoughts and metal suit.

Through expanding instants,

Perhaps an aeon, I had my first idea.

I was not moving. Stars fled from me.

And dragged space with them.

My vacant suit could be the home of God

Whose welded seams might last forever.
